Paul Potts heads to Vancouver: Before Susan Boyle, he was the unlikely Britain's Got Talent sensation
VANCOUVER - The world was captivated when singing sensation Paul Potts launched Nessun Dorma through a mouthful of crooked, broken teeth. Those who didn’t see the initial performance on Britain’s Got Talent were swiftly acquainted with it via viral video on YouTube.
That emotional performance, sung in Italian, needed no translation.
Potts is a living example of serendipity in action. While he’d performed in six amateur opera productions prior to a bike accident in 2003 that broke his collarbone and left him with whiplash, a lack of confidence almost prevented him from trying out for the show that changed his life.
