The story of the 'Britain's Got Talent' star - a mobile phone salesman who became an opera sensation after winning the show in 2007 - had been penned for the big screen, with music mogul Simon Cowell lining up 'Kick-Ass' director Matthew Vaughn to oversee the project, entitled 'One Chance'.

However, Hollywood studios have passed on the project and the film has now been shelved.

Matthew told The Sun newspaper: "It should have gone ahead. Simon and I had a good vision for how the film should be, and it would have been brilliant.
