Paul Potts, Britain's first YouTube hit, turns his 15 minutes into a sophomore album and globetrotting success
Britain's got talent, and I've got a quarter of an hour with Paul Potts.
That's too brief a period for a proper interview, but what the hey – if anybody can stretch things out, it's a blocky British pop-opera singer whose unlikely 15 minutes of fame are lasting longer than a Ben Mulroney suntan.
You recall Potts, yes? The snaggle-toothed cellphone salesman from South Wales who went all Nessun dorma on us a couple of years ago? The Britain's Got Talent winner from 2007 who gobsmacked YouTube viewers with his poor-man's Pavarotti routine? Sure, you remember. And now Potts, the people's tenor, is back. With the press preoccupied with Susan Boyle, Pott's updated story is getting underplayed.
