"The whole of my life, I've tried to follow the virtues of 'If,' a poem by Rudyard Kipling," said Paul Potts at a news conference on Tuesday at the Westin Chosun in Seoul to promote his follow up album, "Passione." The poem is an ode to perseverance of the human spirit which motivates those who have experienced life's setbacks to bounce back. It is a fitting selection relevant to the tenor's life.
"The poem talks about meeting trials and disasters but urges you to live exactly the same way no matter what you face in life because you have to live with yourself for a very very long time," he said.
